Summary
Nineteen states and the District of Columbia sued the Trump administration over the Department of Government Efficiency’s mass firings of federal workers. The states argue that the administration has terminated tens of thousands of probationary employees without following federal regulations, such as providing 60-day advance notice. The states have asked the court to require the administration to halt the reductions in force of probationary employees, reinstate any probationary employees who were terminated as part of mass terminations, and conduct any future layoffs in accordance with applicable laws.
