Summary
Sixteen states and the District of Columbia have sued the Trump administration for ending access to grants from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) that the states use to support low-income and unhoused students. The Department of Education had previously determined that states could access these grants through March 2026. The plaintiffs argue that the administration's rescission of these funds violates the Administrative Procedure Act.
