Summary
A coalition of environmental advocacy groups have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration challenging their attempt to undo permanent environmental protections for certain areas of the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf. President Trump issued Executive Order 14148, "Initial Rescission of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions," which rescinded former President Biden's decision to withdraw areas of the Outer Continental Shelf from leasing. The plaintiffs argued that this executive action oversteps the authority of the president and violates the OSCLA.
