A group of Chicago-based immigrants' rights advocacy organizations have sued the Trump administration in an attempt to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids on the City of Chicago. The plaintiffs argued that Trump has targeted Chicago in particular for deportation raids due to its status as a sanctuary city for immigrants. The plaintiffs are leaders in the sanctuary city movement and have argued that the raids intend to suppress the sanctuary city movement, which would violate the plaintiffs' First Amendment rights.
